Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations

Responsibilities:

SQL Server DBA- 8+ Yrs. overall exp with 3-5 years in Azure PaaS, and bit of Terraform skills. Candidate must be proficient in Advance performance tuning & trouble-shooting

• Key skills
• Performance tuning , security hardening, automation (PowerShell , Terraform, ARM /Bicep), HA/DR and cloud cost optimization
  Work on High Priority Incidents , High change tickets and manage vendor problem tickets.
  Check open tickets/issues and be sure issues/requests are addressed within SLA.
  Make sure to respond to all the SQL DB alerts and take proper action.
  Join bridge calls for P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents along with L2/L3 DBAs.
  Ensure all (Full, differential and log)backups are running fine.
  Ensure that no SQL Server job has failed and follow the SOPs if any job is failing.
  Perform the general health of the server (space, CPU utilization, memory) to confirm there are no issues.
  Setup Maintenance plans for Backups , Database integrity check , Rebuild index and Update statistics and make sure to run all the jobs without any issues.
  Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them.
  Experience on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.
  Work on DB Refresh and table refresh activities both in azure and onprem.
  Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers.
  Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server and address the issues if any.
  Configure and troubleshoot issues in AG ,log shipping, replication and cluster.
  Experience in DR activities involves AG ,log shipping, replication and cluster.
  Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands
  Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production
  Experience in handling SSIS packages and troubleshoot the issues.
  Experience in features like querystore, SQL audit,resource pool
  Experience in Server level and DB level encryption.
  Experience in Azure cloud.
  Should have knowledge on Database Connectivity issues, slow response, operations timed out, Database incident and error resolution.
  Excellent problem-solving skills should be able to transverse across infrastructure layers to diagnose issues.
  Write and troubleshoot shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL Scripts.
  Proven experience in automation and orchestration and worked on automaton scenarios for one touch solutions
  Experience in Devops, Terraform integration with Ansible knowledge and knowledge on Shell & PS Scripting is added advantage
  Knowledge in Paas database maintenance ,Redis etc is added advantage
  Should have SQL tuning skills and experience in refactoring SQL queries to improve performance
  Cross functional in any other RDBMS (Oracle, Postgree SQL) or No SQL open source database is an plus
  Complete ITIL knowledge and handling Problem management ticketing for database including providing RCA for Priority critical Incidents like P1,P2 by offering technical solutions to issues on Oracle database and attending severity calls with business is mandatory and must
