Job Description: Principal Engineering Capability Leader Position Details

Location: Bangalore, India ( Hybrid model- min 3 days WFO a week)
Client: Leading Global Alternative Asset Management Firm

About the Role

This is an opportunity to become one of the founding Engineering Transformation Leaders supporting the evolution of a strategic Bangalore GCC, a very reputed and leading global alternate asset management firm. This role leads to a strategic engineering capability that spans the entire Bangalore GCC rather than a single business tower.

Examples include AI Engineering, Quality Engineering & Automation, Appian & Workflow Automation, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience or Cloud Engineering. The leader will define enterprise standards, reusable accelerators and transformation roadmaps that improve engineering productivity across all towers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define enterprise engineering standards and reusable engineering assets.
• Lead Centres of Excellence across the assigned capability.
• Drive AI adoption, automation and developer productivity across engineering teams.
• Partner with tower leaders to embed engineering practices consistently.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and shape long-term engineering roadmaps.

Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in one or more strategic capabilities such as AI/LLMs, QA Automation, Appian, Platform Engineering, Cloud or Dev Sec Ops.
• Strong architecture, engineering governance and enterprise platform experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of modern engineering tools and automation.

Leadership Expectations

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology delivery and engineering leadership
• Act as the recognized subject matter expert across the GCC.
• Influence multiple engineering organizations without direct reporting authority.
• Coach senior engineers and engineering leaders.
• Build reusable capability that accelerates delivery across all business units.

• Reusable frameworks and accelerators deployed.
• Improved engineering productivity and quality.
• Capability recognised as a GCC Centre of Excellence.
