Role Purpose

• The Technical Architect
• Databricks is a pivotal role within Wipro Technologies' TS - DATA ANALYTICS & AI sector, tasked with articulating and delivering advanced architectural solutions to meet complex data platform needs. This role emphasizes providing visionary thought leadership and hands-on expertise to ensure that delivery teams exceed client expectations through innovation, technical excellence, and seamless project execution.

Acting as a senior technology strategist, the Technical Architect will collaborate closely with clients, engineering teams, and leadership to design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data architectures that leverage the latest developments in the Databricks ecosystem. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence enterprise data strategies, promote best practices, and champion architecture modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating intricate business requirements into robust technical solutions that drive transformation and operational excellence at scale.

Ideal candidates should bring 15+ years of comprehensive IT experience with a minimum of 6+ years focused on hands-on Databricks platform engineering and architecture. This experience should encompass leading the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing data lakehouse solutions on Databricks aligned with best practices and enterprise standards.

• Proven expertise with Lakehouse Architecture, particularly with Delta Lake features including ACID compliance, schema evolution, versioning, and seamless interoperability.
• Deep experience integrating Databricks with various ETL and orchestration frameworks, ensuring smooth data workflows and operational resilience.
• Strong programming skills in Spark ecosystems using Data Frame APIs, Spark SQL, and proficiency with Python, Scala, and SQL languages.
• In-depth knowledge of Databricks-native functionalities such as Workflows, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow, and Lakehouse Federation.
• Comprehensive expertise in cluster management, workspace configuration, performance tuning including cost optimization, security best practices, and real-time monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with Spark structured streaming incorporating autoloader mechanisms integrated with diverse streaming platforms for near-real-time data processing.
• Demonstrated proficiency with modern DevOps pipelines including CI/CD, infrastructure as code using Terraform, and orchestration with tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Architectural design and maintenance of scalable, efficient, and resilient data pipelines embodying Databricks platform best practices.
• Well-grounded understanding of data modeling principles spanning conceptual, logical, and physical schema designs to fit enterprise data strategies.
• Proven ability to establish and nurture strong, trusted technical relationships with CXOs and business executives, driving consensus and enabling client success.
• Skilled at translating complex business needs into compelling technical proposals, presentations, and solution demonstrations tailored to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience managing multi-faceted client engagements to drive alignment and commitment across technical and business teams.
• Desirable: exposure to Artificial Intelligence/Generative AI domains and possession of professional certifications in Databricks or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Technical Expertise & Skills

This role necessitates mastery in Data Bricks Data Engineering along with a robust command of Py Spark programming. The professional will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data solutions within cloud-based platforms and leveraging Databricks' native tools to maximize efficiency and performance.

Additional expertise includes management of data platform configurations, performance tuning, and security implementations tailored to enterprise-scale environments. The ability to integrate with comprehensive CI/CD pipelines and utilize infrastructure-as-code methodologies is essential to ensure automation, repeatability, and operational excellence.

Hands-on experience with streaming data workflows, real-time analytics, and advanced data modeling substantiates the capability to architect next-generation data infrastructure. Exposure to evolving technologies within AI and Gen AI domains is advantageous, positioning the architect to contribute to innovation-led client engagements.
