Role Purpose

• The Technical Architect
• Snowflake is a critical leadership role focused on creating robust architectural solutions in data analytics ecosystems. This role drives thought leadership and innovation, enabling delivery teams to implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient Snowflake-based data platforms. The incumbent will be pivotal in ensuring outstanding client engagement through top-tier solution design and architecture advisory.

This position requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex business requirements into technical architectures that align with long-term business goals. You will contribute to shaping the overall data strategy by leveraging Snowflake's advanced capabilities and integrating them with modern data engineering, governance, and analytics practices.

The ideal candidate excels at mentoring and guiding multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration across technical and business stakeholders. This role also involves championing best practices in data platform architecture and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance and drive innovation.

With over 15 years of IT experience and a minimum of 6 years directly working with Snowflake, the candidate is expected to take full ownership of end-to-end data platform architecture. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions on Snowflake are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and translating complex business needs into comprehensive Snowflake architectures ensuring scalability, security, and cost optimization.
• Designing detailed data models, schemas, and system integrations for smooth data flow and interoperability.
• Defining and executing strategic migration plans from legacy systems to Snowflake with minimal disruption and data integrity assurance.
• Establishing optimization frameworks by fine-tuning data structures and queries to leverage Snowflake’s unique features for enhanced performance.
• Partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders including data engineers, business analysts, and project managers to maintain alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
• Ensuring strict adherence to enterprise governance policies and standards, including refinement of escalation procedures.
• Reviewing, auditing, and certifying project deliverables to uphold quality assurance standards at every phase of implementation.

Your daily engagements will include:

• Leading interactive sessions with business stakeholders to clarify and gather nuanced requirements, ensuring a strong understanding of business drivers and constraints.
• Designing, documenting, and communicating comprehensive data models, architectural blueprints, and solution design principles.
• Collaborating with engineering teams throughout development cycles to verify that implementation closely follows the defined architecture and quality standards.
• Providing expert guidance on Snowflake best practices, including efficient use of SnowSQL, stored procedures, and user-defined functions (UDFs).
• Evaluating new Snowflake features, such as Snowpark and Cortex, to continuously innovate and improve the data platform capabilities.
• Participating actively in code and design reviews to ensure consistency, performance, and maintainability.
• Staying current on emerging trends and updates in Snowflake and related technologies, incorporating these insights into ongoing projects and migration approaches.
• Engaging with data-related technologies such as DBT, Coalesce, various ETL tools, BI platforms, DevOps workflows, and AI/ML or Generative AI advancements, adding valuable context and innovation to solutions.
