Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer with deep expertise in HP Vertica and Single Store DB to design, develop, optimize, and maintain high performance, scalable data solutions. The role involves working on large scale analytical and transactional data platforms, enabling real time insights, advanced analytics, and data driven decision making for enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in database development, performance tuning, data modeling, and query optimization, along with the ability to collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders.

͏Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high performance data solutions using HP Vertica and Single Store DB

• Build and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines

• Perform database performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and workload management

• Design and implement data models (logical and physical) for analytical and transactional workloads

• Support real time and near real time data processing use cases

• Collaborate with data engineers, application teams, and architects to integrate databases with upstream and downstream systems

• Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance across environments

• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices, standards, and documentation

• Support deployment, migration, and upgrades across environments (Dev, Test, Prod)

• Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting for data processing and automation

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands on experience with HP Vertica

o Columnar storage concepts

o Projections, segmentation, and partitioning

o Performance tuning and workload management

• Strong hands on experience with Single Store DB

o Distributed SQL architecture

o In memory and disk based tables

o Real time analytics and ingestion

• Advanced SQL development and optimization

• Strong understanding of data modeling for analytical and transactional systems

• Experience with large scale data volumes and high concurrency systems

• Working knowledge of ETL / ELT pipelines and data integration concepts

• Experience in Linux/Unix environments

• Strong problem solving, analytical, and debugging skills

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams

• Good Python Data processing skills.

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka, CDC tools)

• Experience with data visualization or BI tools

• Familiarity with DevOps / CI CD pipelines for database deployments

• Experience with other databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift)

• Understanding of data governance, security, and access control

• Prior experience in client facing or large enterprise environments
