Wellstar Medical Group is actively seeking a BE/BC Breast Surgeon to join a well-established practice and comprehensive program with an existing referral base and strong community need. Candidates should be competent in the latest surgical protocols in the treatment of cancer, including minimally invasive surgery, possess excellent clinical skills, and a dedication to providing quality and compassionate patient centered care.
The selected candidate will be a key team member for Wellstar’s Comprehensive Breast Health Program. The cancer program has CoC (Commission on Cancer) from the American College of Surgeons.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:

Provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Perform surgical procedures include mastectomies, lumpectomies, excisional biopsies, and infusaport placement for chemotherapy, axillary surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection, oncoplastic closures

Document clinical notes in the electronic medical record. Wellstar currently uses Epic.

At times have the opportunity to provide education to residents and medical students

Provide appropriate call coverage

No general surgery call

No ER call except for already established patients. Nurse practitioners take first call.

Perform intraoperative radiation, Cyberknife

Occasionally perform and consistently read breast ultrasounds. To assist with our patient care needs, sonographers are members of our in-office team.
Qualifications
Board Certified/Board Eligible with Georgia Medical License
Experience in ultrasound, ultrasound biopsy, and stereo biopsy
Proficient in benign and malignant breast surgery including oncoplasty

Skills:
- The role requires proficiency in minimally invasive surgery and clinical skills.
- You must have experience in patient-centered care and surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in breast ultrasound and oncoplastic surgery is essential.
Education:
- A Doctorate in Medicine is required.
