About the Role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Payments Lead Technology Business Systems Consultant to join the Global Payments & Liquidity Treasury Technology organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high‑impact technology initiatives by partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders. You will translate complex business needs into scalable, enterprise‑grade solutions that support strategic payments modernization initiatives across the firm.

In This Role, You Will

Lead complex initiatives to deliver scalable technology solutions with broad impact across cross‑functional business and technology teams
-
Serve as a key contributor in shaping and delivering strategic solutions for enterprise‑wide technology initiatives
-
Evaluate highly complex business problems; act as a Payments domain subject matter expert and thought leader driving innovative, compliant solutions
-
Lead in‑depth analysis and research of business and technology requests to define clear, accurate, and efficient functional requirements
-
Define and validate non‑functional requirements, including performance, scalability, resiliency, availability, and security, aligned with business and regulatory objectives
-
Identify, assess, and mitigate technology and delivery risks while ensuring adherence to enterprise risk, control, and compliance standards
-
Partner with risk, security, and audit stakeholders to support assessments, testing, issue remediation, and regulatory readiness
-
Collaborate with Product Owners to refine epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria to enable effective Agile delivery
-
Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, dependency management, and release readiness across multiple teams
-
Define and validate end‑to‑end integration flows, APIs, and data movement across complex upstream and downstream systems
-
Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and consistency across end‑to‑end payment processing workflows
-
Drive production readiness by validating functional outcomes, operational handoffs, and deployment considerations
-
Support post‑release monitoring, incident triage, and continuous improvement efforts in partnership with support teams
-
Provide functional and technical leadership across matrixed teams, influencing outcomes without direct authority

Mentor junior analysts and contributors while promoting adherence to enterprise standards and best practices
-
Make decisions in highly complex, ambiguous situations requiring deep domain and technology expertise with enterprise‑wide impact
-
Lead project and system documentation; monitor and manage schedules, milestones, and deliverables
-
Collaborate closely with business and technology partners to deliver integrated solutions for complex business challenges
-
Ensure clear, effective communication and information flow between business and technology stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
-
5+ years of Business Systems Data and Business Systems Designing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
-
5+ years of experience in technical and business analysis with a strong focus on payments initiatives in the financial services industry
-
3+ years of payments domain experience, including payments processing lifecycle, payments rails, and ISO 20022
-
2+ years of experience with cloud‑native technologies and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
-
Demonstrated experience working with geographically dispersed teams across the United States and India
-
Experience in performing acceptance testing to validate solutions against defined business requirements
-
Experience working in Agile delivery models (Scrum or Kanban) within large enterprise environments
Desired Qualifications:

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and scenarios

Experience applying AI‑based techniques for data analysis is a strong plus
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences

Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and well‑structured documentation
-
Demonstrated success working in cross‑functional teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving alignment
-
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
