About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Ab Initio ETL and Spark Developer)

In this role, you will:

• Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
• Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
• Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 4+ years of overall IT experience.
• Strong hands-on experience on Abinitio or any other ETL tool.
• Knowledge of Scheduling like Autosys, Shell Script is preferred.
• Experience in Web/UI development, Python and Py Spark/Spark is good to have.
• Strong in SQL, No-SQL and prefer from Data warehouse background.
• Working knowledge on GCP is a plus.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and structured programming concepts.
• Practical experience with SDLC, both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of coding standards, best practices, and review processes.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with or supporting teams across multiple geographic regions.
• Proven ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned modules, including design, development and production support.
• Knowledge of test automation
• Experience working in offshore-onshore model is preferred
• Experience working in Banking domain
• Experience in AI solutions

• Independently analyze requirements, seek clarifications with business stakeholders, onshore partners and technical teams.
• Collaborate effectively with technical leads on development tasks.
• Work within an Agile environment and contribute to development activities using CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize relevant tools and technologies to develop, enhance and unit‑test the codebase.
• Assist in preparing programming specifications and complete development tasks for enhancing existing programs or building moderately complex new ones.
• Perform application testing and debugging, including writing queries or scripts to extract, validate, and analyze data.
• Update relevant documentation, procedures and technical artifacts.
• Contribute to strong client relationships by understanding customer needs and aligning solutions to their goals.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, business analysts and distributed application teams.
