Waymo’s Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo’s technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and you will report to a Group Product Manager.

You will:

• Develop a road-map and determine product requirements for planner, leveraging product insight and drive alignment across the company

• Work on Planner, AI/ML technologies that enable Waymo’s Driver to scale in domestic and international markets, and across many hardware platforms

• Work with other PMs and cross functional teams to identify the long term product focus areas, and steer technology and engineering efforts to address them

• Thoroughly investigate data from real-world miles collected by our fleet, define requirements and guide the team to make the right trade-offs between capability, engineering complexity and other factors

• Align and work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Operations, System Engineering, and other Waymo teams to bring to market products that save lives and transform transportation

You have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience

• 5+ years of relevant product management experience.

• The ability to gather and dissect large quantities of information, identify issues and trends and turn them into a thoughtful and compelling product vision and technical strategy/decisions

• Proven ability to dig deep into a problem by utilizing technical tools and deep technical understanding

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams

• Experience setting own goals and effectively delivering to them in a very fast-changing environment as well as flourish in ambiguity

We prefer:

• A Master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline, MBA, or equivalent experience in Robotics or Machine Learning

• Prior product experience in AV, ML or Robotics

• Experience delivering products with new technology introduction

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
