The Vehicle Partnerships team builds and maintains forward-looking relationships with vehicle OEMs. Waymo is building a better driver, and we partner with manufacturers to deliver our unique technology to appropriate vehicles. As a member of this cross-functional team, you'll have a tremendous effect on Waymo's future as you define, develop and execute these vital partnerships.

You will:

  • Develop partnership and business development strategy based on research, expertise and understanding of Waymo’s strategy and goals. Build consensus for recommendations with cross-functional teams.

  • Help build and manage automotive partner relationships during all phases of engagement (outreach all the way to deal signing and ongoing management). Lead certain partnership negotiations and/or first-of-a-kind deals that are critical for the launch and scaling of Waymo’s business initiatives

  • Support large, complex deals with significant operational impact to Waymo.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, operations, marketing, and finance to support automotive partnerships

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, partnership, or corporate development roles, ideally in the automotive, technology and/or transportation industries. Or sales experience if coming from an Automotive Tier 1 background

  • Proven track record of developing strategic partnerships, financial analysis and modeling, deal structuring, and negotiating agreement terms

  • Proven ability to handle ambiguity, work collaboratively with internal and partner contacts, influence cross-functional teams

  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills with technical, contractual and financial issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We prefer:

  • MBA or graduate degree in a business, management, etc

  • Comfortable presenting to and communicating directly with senior executives

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment

Travel:

Travel required - up to 25% expected

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
