We are seeking talented Information Technology professionals to join the Waste Management team who are motivated to help us transform the way we design, build and use technology. With your skills and experience, we look for you to combine your technical expertise with industry best practices in an effort to align information technology solutions with Waste Management business strategy.
I.
Job Summary:
Directs the efforts of a team in the design, development, implementation, and support of various information technology/systems applications and/or projects focused on but not limited to mobile technology.
II.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department.
- Deep expertise in Android app development (Kotlin/Java, modern architectures), with strong working knowledge of Python for backend or automation tasks, AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3), and practical experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into mobile applications using tools such as Tensor Flow Lite or AWS AI services
- Coordinates with business owners to determine business needs or requirements.
- Plans initiatives and projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress.
- Acts as a team leader or project manager and/or establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the team.
- Evaluates status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
- May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with applications and/or initiatives.
- Prepares reports and presentations and necessary. Coordinates communication between peers, team, business owners and management.
- Coordinates and oversees career development, performance management, pay determination and team communication.
III.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management of supervisory employees. This includes:
- Direct supervision of full-time employees including team leads and individual contributors.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Six (6) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- May require in depth skills in one or more of the following: implementation and support, large-scale data centers, application development projects, application testing, analytical skills, general IT knowledge, and project management.

Normal setting for this job is an office setting.

Candidates must be located in Houston, TX. No relocation assistance is available.

This posistion is required to be onsite Monday through Thursday with a flexible work from home day on Friday.
