I.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Stericycle is seeking a Commercial Counsel to work on commercial and vendor agreements and other transactions to support our various business lines. This role has responsibility for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of customer and vendor contracts, partnering with our commercial and strategic sourcing organizations to resolve commercial disputes, and providing strategic support to the business on commercial matters. You will provide day-to-day support to internal business clients, including advising clients on legal risks and business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic environment, a creative problem solver, process oriented, and comfortable working with technologies related to commercial contracting.
This position is hybrid to Bannockburn, IL. Onsite 4 days per week and remote work on Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Build strong partnerships with Strategic Sourcing, Sales, Marketing and other functional areas while creating and maintaining best-in-class, effective and efficient transaction processes.

Negotiate, draft and review a variety of sales and procurement contracts.

Provide practical and effective advice and develop relationships with key business stakeholders.

Provide counsel to and advise business leaders in the development of contractual terms and conditions that align with the business requirements, statements of work, contractual rights and obligations, negotiations, risk identification and interpretation of contract terms and conditions.

Make improvements to our internal contract processes.

Manage internal and external resources as needed in the delivery of commercial support to the business.

Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory changes to bring forward business opportunities and provide advice on and manage associated risk.

Maintain and support a culture of legal and compliance excellence

III. Qualifications

Must live and work in the US.
A.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate
- 4 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, government, or company, focused on commercial transactions or related areas
- Commercial legal contract experience in corporate setting, preferably in highly regulated industry
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally using legal judgment and strategic thinking to close complex transactions
- State Bar Licensure Upon Hire

- Experience with contract lifecycle management technology

PAY:
The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $150,920 - $199,870. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
