I. Job Summary
Sr. Business Analyst will have experience in data analytics and metrics optimization with the primary function of improving data and analysis practices and processes. Responsible for instituting new policies, procedures and tools. Develops reporting and utilizes data analytics to identify improvement opportunities and enable effective business decisions. The Sr. Business Analyst is a leader within the organization who is responsible for maximizing profits and increasing the teams overall efficiency. Responsible for processing several different types of data to achieve those goals.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Lead multiple initiatives, establish and track success measures for each. Ensure delivery is met with timelines and within expectations

  • Work with WM Strategic Business Solutions systems to perform analyses on large, complex data sets.

  • Conduct analysis of findings and provide strategic insights, hypotheses, actionable recommendations and conclusions based upon findings to managers and leadership.

  • Effectively use data visualization, in summaries and/or dashboards, to enhance translation of data and findings in brief and intelligible format, suitable for any audience.

  • Perform data profiling and root cause analysis to identify and understand anomalies. As appropriate, work with management and IT to address these issues.

  • Drive report automation while developing procedures and standards for obtaining and analyzing the data.

  • Act as a liaison between IT and the Client Solutions team to provide support and understanding in the gathering of data.

  • Address inefficiencies while interacting with members of the Client Solutions team to improve daily functions. Providing enhancements to existing processes and tools.

  • Work with all members of the WM Strategic Business Solutions to help develop new processes and tools to be leveraged within the Client Solutions team and organization.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct supervision of 0 to 10 full-time operations-level employees, contracted employees and/or other 3rd party vendors as individual projects demand

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Business, Accounting, Environmental Sciences, Project Management or other industry-related field, or in lieu of degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience: Six (6) years of previous business analytics experience with responsibility in project/business management and/or environmental/sustainability or services industry.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of essential business objectives, targets and goals

  • Understanding of business processes and procedures

  • Working knowledge of financial and computer systems, databases, and spreadsheets

  • Technical knowledge and experience working with BI visualization tools (TIBCO Spotfire; PowerBI; Excel)

  • Strong technical experience accessing and working with data (SQL, databases)

  • Analyzing and carrying out interpretations by utilizing intricate large data sets

  • Experience in designing managerial level presentations and reports

  • Able to multi-task, including a proven track record of delivering multiple concurrent complex technical projects on time.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (complex and nested formulas; tables, pivot tables and pivot reporting; dynamic & interactive charting; VBA and macros; etc.)

  • Experience developing and maintaining efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, functions for use in large volume databases.

  • Ability to think and act strategically

  • Build relationships and leverage subject matter expertise to driving conversations and/or influence decision

  • Efficiently generate, reliable working relationships with team, staff, and customers.

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;

  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rare;

  • Travel up to 5%

  • Normal setting for this job is: hybrid office setting in Windsor, CT.

The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $95,700-$120,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
