The Internship Experience As a WM Intern, you won't be sitting on the sidelines, you'll be in the mix. You will work alongside experienced professionals on real projects that make an impact for WM. You'll get real-world experience in key aspects of our business, including a meaningful project you'll own and present to senior leaders at the end of the summer, while discovering what we're all about. Outside of your core work, you'll join skill-building workshops, connect with leaders through executive roundtables, and build community with fellow interns from across the country. When summer wraps- the connection doesn't stop there. You'll walk away with meaningful experience for your resume, a strong network, and a clear path to stay connected to future opportunities at WM. About the WM Northern CA / Nevada Team We are seeking Interns for.

Operations Management Intern: Work onsite at a WM facility to support daily operations and complete a meaningful site‑specific project. Great for Operations or Business majors seeking exposure to frontline operations, logistics, and leadership.

You'll get to explore specific tools, projects, or initiatives, learn how things work behind the scenes, and help WM drive purpose in everything we do. Whether you're diving into data, pitching ideas, or helping make things run smoother, what you do will matter—and we want to hear what you think.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem.

  • Conducts analysis as directed, and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.

  • Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.

  • Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.

  • Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.

  • Please note that you’re expected to do **15%**of travel in relation to your work.
    III. QualificationsA. Required Qualifications- Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.
    B. Preferred Qualifications-
    Full-time student in a 4 year College or University, Required

  • Junior or Senior Standing

  • Ideally looking for a business degree . Projects will be focused in the areas of Operations .

  • Desire in pursuing a career with an Environmental Services company post-graduation in Northern California or Nevada

  • Must have a reliable form of transportation. This position requires travel to various locations as part of the internship experience. This includes site visits, tours, and networking events.

The expected base pay rate for this office/on-site position is $22.72. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
