Meet Our Team:

This role is within WBD’s Sports Platform Engineering responsible for providing the tools, services, and observability to our flagship streaming and sports products. This role scope includes creating an easy-to-use platform built for developers to easily bring applications to market while upholding a high bar for quality. We do this by packing source control, building systems, pipelines, and deployment solutions in a self-serve service. We are a fast-growing, global engineering group crucial to WBD’s future. We need a senior developer who is comfortable turning the needs of our engineering community into thoughtful design and architecture, serving as a senior resource for other developers as they build software components.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Software Engineer

  • DevOps you will collaborate with software application developers, security teams and other partners to drive on DevOps initiatives.

  • continuous integration/delivery, security, operational stability, and observability along with instilling best practices within the organization are primary focus areas.

  • Design, build, test, and maintain our AWS infrastructure .

  • Create, maintain, and participate in active monitoring of said infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline and automate development, build, and deployment of our web services.

  • Triage production issues in collaboration with engineering teams.

  • Participate in on-call rotations, project planning, code review, and technical design.

  • Identify and effectively communicate opportunities for improvement both within the team and external teams .

  • Design and evangelize DevOps processes for continuous improvements.

  • Strong Linux & networking fundamentals.

  • Strong scripting and automation mindset.

  • Must have worked in an Agile SDLC setup.

  • Ability in at least one or more general purpose languages such as Python or Shell. Open to polyglot other languages as and when needed.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with global team.

  • AWS Security and remediation expertise.

  • Ability to learn, build, and debug other programming languages.

  • Hands on Containerization tools knowledge like – docker, kubernetes, helm, ECS.

  • Expert in AWS DevOps Architecture – S3, Serverless (lambda, dynamodb, fargate), ALBs/NLBs, Global Accelerators, RDS, Cloudfront, Route53, ECS, EKS, Cost Explorer, IAM, etc.

  • IAC/Provisioner experience; Terraform must-have. CloudFormation, Chef or Ansible is a plus.

  • CI/CD knowledge with hands-on implementation experience. GitHub Actions and workflows knowledge is a plus.

  • Git/GitHub administration.

What to Bring

  • 5- 8 years’ experience across two or more of the following: web application development, Linux administration, networking, cloud security, systems architecture, test automation, and/or database administration
  • 3+ years building and maintaining software systems with AWS and GCP/Azure.
  • 3+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience maintaining AWS RDS. Exposure to Mongo Atlas Architecture is a plus.
  • Proven experience with Terraform. Good to have knowledge on Ansible, Salt stack, Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation.
  • Exposure to maintaining Open Search clusters.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools and observability pipeline integration – Datadog exposure preferred. Grafana, Prometheus,
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent degree in related field or relevant experience
