About the team:

At Warner Bros. Discovery, the advertising platform is a vehicle to provide engaged viewing experiences for ad-supported viewers. The Ad Tech platform balances advertiser performance metrics with user experience and revenue generation. The platform powers a premium ad-supported experience for live sports and live linear channels as well through digital ad insertion on HBO Max, Discovery+, CNN, NCAA March Madness and Bleacher Report, both on our own platforms and through our distribution partners.

Position Summary:

As we continue to grow and innovate in a fast-paced, highly-competitive digital environment, we are seeking a strategic, creative, customer-focused leader to lead our Product Management – Technical team in developing our in-house ad platform. The Director of PM-T will focus on customer experiences, working with the Product teams to bring innovative ad experiences to our users. You will report to the Group VP of Engineering and PM-T for Ad Tech. Your role involves team growth and mentorship, design and architecture, operational excellence and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of 3-5 PM-Ts, fostering a high-performance product and engineering culture.

  • Manage requirements intake and prioritization across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders with competing asks, including ad sales, ad operations, marketing, engineering and executives.

  • Own and drive key initiatives supporting the engineering team from ideation through release.

  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams to drive alignment on technical and product roadmaps.

  • Provide business guidance and ensure high-end quality standards.

  • Contribute to the technical and business vision for our platform, especially on strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor, review and coach performance of individual contributors; conduct regular performance appraisals and provide growth opportunities.

  • Own the hiring, onboarding and development of PM-Ts, ensuring a diverse and high-performing team.

  • Drive advertising innovation while advocating for engineering best practices.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration within WBD Streaming.

  • Act as a culture carrier, fostering a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative environment aligned with WBD’s guiding principles and global Ad Tech ambitions.

  • Provide mentorship and leadership across the broader team, supporting talent development, succession planning and organizational health.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in product management, of which 5+ years involves direct management of a team of 5 or more full-time employees.

  • Deep familiarity and hands-on experience with advertising technology, including SSPs, DSPs, audience targeting, segmentation, impression measurement, diverse digital ad SKUs and SSAI/SGAI.

  • Proven experience operating at a senior level in a continuous delivery organization that uses Agile methodologies (ceremonies) and tools (Jira). Comfortable working on early iterations of solutions without clearly-defined parameters, and the ability to lead a team which has autonomy in their day-to-day decisions.

  • Ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements and design.

  • A general understanding of DevOps CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and implementation best practices.

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability as an execution-driven self-starter who takes initiative, follows through, and ensures things get done efficiently.

  • Experience using AI tools to speed up requirements documentation and prototyping.

  • Comfortable communicating with stakeholders from internal technical and non-technical members, product managers, C-level management.

  • Experience mentoring junior product managers.

  • Passion for technology and the evolving landscape of digital advertising.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive team alignment with business goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $234,500.00 - $435,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
