Job Description:

  • Co‑lead External Communications for Walt Disney Japan, shaping and delivering an integrated external communications strategy that strengthens and protects Disney’s corporate brand and reputation.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans and messaging aligned with business objectives, proactively securing impactful media coverage and thought leadership opportunities
  • Lead ongoing corporate storytelling and day-to-day communications initiatives across multiple business segments.
  • Draft, edit, and manage approvals for a wide range of internal and external communications materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with Disney’s global brand standards.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with media, KOLs, influencers, and internal stakeholders across business units, marketing, HR, partnerships, and corporate functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in corporate communications and/or public relations, with expertise in brand management, executive communications, media relations, issues and crisis management, and internal communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing complex communications campaigns and press events.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-functional and senior-level collaboration.
  • Deep knowledge of the Japanese media and entertainment landscape, including digital/social PR channels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English; proven ability to craft compelling media pitches, press materials, speeches, reports, and executive communications.
  • Highly adaptable, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Experience working with and managing external PR agencies.
  • TOEIC score of 900+ or equivalent English proficiency required.
  • Experience in the entertainment or media industry strongly preferred
