At Disney Experiences Technology (DXT), our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club.
About The Role & Team:
We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all DXT initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including My Disney Experience and Hey, Disney! This role is on the Content Design Team, which is part of the Product Design & Creative organization within DXT for Disney Experiences. The Lead Content Designer will report to the Manager, Content Design.
In this role, you will drive content design and strategy to define next-generation experiences for Disney Experiences Technology. You will leverage your expertise and skills to collaborate with a wide range of designers, creatives, and cross-functional partners, including product management and technologists, to deliver simple, reliable, and useful experiences for our guests and customers.
What You'll Do:

Develop strategic content designs to inspire, shape, and create compelling content experiences that benefit our Guests and support business and project priorities across platforms

Own content design strategy for your projects/vertical, integrating content strategy across the roadmap of design efforts with a lens to the overall content experience, and sharing this context with partners and more junior content designers

Lead projects for content design, flexing to work independently, partner with other designers and stakeholders, and guide work of more junior team members across the portfolio

Build strong relationships with team members and cross functional partners at all levels to drive strategy, collaboration and innovation

Utilize and contribute to our evolving content design system and information architecture, integrating business updates with our design system

Partner with cross-functional teams – including other designers, product management, technology and consumer insights – to consistently improve the user experience and design maturity

Design content for experiences across web, mobile web and native apps (iOS and Android), and emerging tech platforms. May perform user design research.

Apply rigorous design thinking best practices to develop products and experiences that meet at the crossroads of the physical and digital worlds

Create wireframes/content maps and lo-fi prototypes to organize and structure content prior to design, and to demonstrate content interaction, page flow, and hierarchy.

Qualifications:

A minimum 7 years of related work experience

Comfortable working in an agile environment

Ability to apply a broad range of content design capabilities to drive challenging projects and represent the content design process at all stages of the engagement, including IA, taxonomy, content hierarchy, content audit, user research, data analysis, and design systems

Experience across multiple areas of business with the ability to lead projects and strategic development across different lines of business

Excellent communication and presentation skills: ability to articulate high-level strategy, design decisions, and updates to leaders and project team members

Education
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $135,200 to $181,200 per year and in Glendale, CA $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
