As a Senior Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive how risk is understood, prioritized, and reduced across some of the most complex operating environments in the world. This is a role for a safety leader who thinks beyond compliance and brings systems thinking, data-driven decision making, and strong influence skills to the table.
The Senior Safety Professional will report to Manager, Safety.
What You Will Do:
On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
- Apply risk-based safety principles to proactively identify, assess, and control hazards across diverse business operations
- Influence how safety is embedded into daily decision-making, project planning, and operational execution, rather than treated as a checkbox
- Drive the implementation of safety programs, performing risk assessments, and data analysis to focus efforts where it matters most to improve safety performance
- Lead and/or participate in investigations, focusing on root cause, systems improvement, and sustainable corrective actions
- Participate in safety audits, including support for Tier I and II Line of Business audit findings, completing safety-focused Tier IIs, and closure of action plans identified through Tier III audits
- Partner closely with leaders and front-line teams as a trusted advisor, not just a compliance expert
- Serve as the Safety & Health Duty Manager on a rotational basis, providing leadership during operational needs
Required Qualifications & Skills
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
- 5+ years of occupational safety experience or relevant safety experience
- A practical understanding of risk-based and data-driven safety approaches, not just rules and enforcement
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and consensus standards
- The ability to prioritize competing risks and initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence communicating with and influencing leaders and employees at all levels
Strong writing, presentation, and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, experience with the following is a plus:
- Previous experience in entertainment/hospitality, manufacturing, utilities, or large-scale operations in a corporate safety structure
- ISO45001 Lead Auditor Certification
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP)
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (STEM preferred)
