Job Description:
The Manager, Corporate Alliances (Business development) plays a critical role in driving new strategic partnership revenue for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL). As the lead for Business Development within the Corporate Alliances team, this role is responsible for generating new alliance, Operating Participant (leasing), and creating long‑term, high‑value commercial relationships that deliver incremental operating income. Reporting to Director of Corporate Alliances, the role will work closely with multiple internal Lines of Business and external brand partners to develop creative, commercially viable partnerships and marketing solutions aligned with HKDL’s business and strategic priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand broad partnership market trend, best practices and conduct market research on prospective partner companies, across the Asia market, particularly in the Greater Bay Area. Identify alignment between prospective partners’ products and brand strategies with HKDL’s goals and priorities.
- Own the full Business Development (BD) P&L, including the development of BD strategies, action plans, and pipelines of prospective clients. A creative mindset is essential, with the ability to devise innovative solutions and think outside the box to come up with tailor-made proposals.
- Lead the end‑to‑end execution of new partnership development, from influencing and securing internal senior executive alignment to managing external communications. This includes building business models, developing and pitching creative concepts, negotiating commercial terms, and executing alliance contracts and agreements.
- Apply strong analytical skills to translate multiple data sources into actionable business insights and partnership models. Evaluate deal viability and success factors, including annual fee structures, value‑creation opportunities, and present compelling, data‑backed narratives to C‑level stakeholders.
- Manage and develop 1–2 professional team members, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to support their growth and effectiveness in the business development function.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in partnerships, sponsorships, consulting, business development, marketing, or agency environments, with proven ability to manage complex, multi‑year commercial deals and negotiation. Exposure to IP licensing, FMCG, e-commerce or digital/technology categories strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and navigating complexity, with ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to own revenue targets and P&L responsibility. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable business models and strategic proposals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and external executives. Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required.
