The role requires vast experience to handle UHD (4K/HDR) workflows and QC standards across broadcast and streaming platforms, with an in-depth understanding of end-to-end UHD (4K/HDR) & Dolby ATMOS workflows, technical setup, and Disney+ delivery specifications. The role ensures UHD assets are delivered to the highest technical and technology standards by defining best practices, enforcing robust quality control, and enabling teams with the necessary UHD knowledge and capabilities.
In addition to setting UHD strategy and standards, the Editor will perform hands-on operational and editorial work, supports on-demand and digital media services, and serves as the escalation point for complex technical or QC-related issues involving both internal stakeholders and external partners
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support UHD (4K/HDR) and Dolby Atmos workflows to meet broadcast and streaming platform requirements
- Apply and uphold QC standards to ensure UHD and audio assets comply with delivery specifications, including Disney+
- Configure and maintain end-to-end UHD and audio technical setups, ensuring workflows remain efficient and reliable
- Establish and maintain best practices for UHD and audio processing and quality assurance
- Perform technical and content quality control, identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues prior to delivery.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to teams to build and maintain UHD capability
- Perform all aspects of editing works, including mastering and formatting of programs.
- Conduct Standard and Practice (S&P) and PSE editing on both video and audio files based on the censorship report to ensure all materials comply with relevant regulations and practices of the recipient markets.
- Conform foreign language dub tracks to match the video.
- Perform digital conversion for various types of components, frame rates, or format types per distribution requirements.
- Control the logistic flow to ensure timely delivery of all materials for publishing and/or distribution.
- Control and approve the quality of incoming and processed media files, including subtitle and dubbing materials, before sending for publishing and/or distribution.
- Capture and record technical data related to assets, including timecode, media quality control results, and format information. Maintain data accuracy in all application systems used by operational functions, i.e., content management systems for both linear and nonlinear services, and their media processing systems.
- Ensure timely and high-quality completion of tasks assigned by the superior.
- Assist in tracking details of all operational problems, investigate, and provide solutions.
- Ensure that all aspects of standard operational procedures are maintained and kept up-to-date.
- Stay updated on industry trends to understand the impact to the business operation.
- Be a team player with open and honest communication to peers and ensure working towards the same goal.
Basic Qualifications:
- ITE/Diploma/Degree in video production, media studies or other related fields
- A minimum of 1~3 years of related working experience in the broadcast/media industry
- Proficient in Video/Audio editing software; like Adobe Creative Suit/Da Vinci Resolve / Avid Protools
- Expertise with production and post-production workflows and UHD, HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos technologies.
- Experience in handling Colorfront QC Player, Transkoder and transcoding engine Vantage to create profiles
- Knowledge in various OTT platforms is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, team player and positive attitude towards work
- Able to prioritize effectively and adapt to different tasks flexibly.
- Possesses the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Willing to work on shift basis
- Proficient in Korean and/ or Japanese languages is a bonus point
