Sam’s club is a membership-based retail warehouse club owned and operated by Walmart.  With more than 600 physical clubs across different geographic region in US, Sam’s Club chain serves more than 50 million US members and is rated among the top retailers in US.

You will work closely with Business team to understand the requirements, drive design, architecture and influence the choice of technology to deliver solution working closely with senior architects and leadership team.

You will also have challenging opportunities to cross-collaborate with inter-disciplinary product and engineering teams to solve some of the unique challenges in multi-channel shopping experience.

What you'll do:

• Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause, etc.); then engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of found issues. Upon issue resolution, perform a root cause analysis across multiple mobile devices to prevent future occurrence.

• Develop innovative mobile technology solutions and strategies to support business objectives by collaborating with cross-functional business partners; developing assessments of key opportunities; benchmarking and analyzing industry best practices; forecasting for future technologies; driving high-priority initiatives; identifying and implementing solutions; communicating with and influencing decision-makers and executives within the organization; influencing the industry to adopt sustainable solutions; and defining software development guidelines, standards, and processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements; translating requirements into mobile solutions for multiple operating systems (for example, i Phone, Android); gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code (for example, Java/Kotlin) that can be applied to multiple types of mobile devices; developing user interface solutions; conducting testing to ensure solution is functional; communicating project status and roadblocks to team members and stakeholders; determining solutions to issues; enhancing design to prevent reoccurrence of defects across multiple devices; ensuring on-time delivery; and collaborating with project managers to provide guidance on project implementation plan.

• Remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

• Promote and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy.

• Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost- effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

• What you will bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with6 - 9 years of mobile engineering experience, with at least 6 years focused on Android application development.

• Expertise in developing Android mobile apps using Java and Kotlin programming languages, as well as experience with mobile app design principles and user experience (UX) considerations.

• Experience with a consumer facing app and ecommerce or retail shopping

• Possess deep knowledge of the Android SDK, Design and Architecture Patterns, and Testing frameworks

• Previous knowledge of Designing and developing advanced applications for the Android platform

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create new features.

• Ensuring the performance,quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Experience translating wireframes into pixel-perfect views

• Shipped one or more Android applications that are currently available for download on the Google Play Store.

• Experience with offline storage, and asynchronous programming

• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

• Experience working with remote data via REST, JSON, Google Cloud Messaging, and the HTTP protocol

• Experience with Google Play APIs: Maps, Location, and Cloud Messaging

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle and writing readable, maintainable, performant object-oriented code

• Conducting code reviews, maintaining code quality, and ensuring adherence to coding standards

• Participating in the entire Android development lifecycle, including planning, testing, and deploying applications

• Providing technical guidance and support to other team members

• Knowledge of Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multi-platform would be a plus.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Fastlane) for building, testing, and deploying iOS applications.

• Familiarity with App Store distribution, Test Flight, and Apple developer tools.

• Experience with mobile security practices, performance optimization, and memory management.

• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS) is a plus.

• A continuous learner with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and customer-first mindset.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
