Opportunity:
We are looking for dedicated, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges at scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that help Visa drive enterprise-wide innovation. While building components of the innovation hub, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
The Work itself:
- Design code and systems that enables and improves Visa offerings which touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
- Own Visa’s enterprise-wide innovation platform that empowers employes to drive organizational and product improvements through collaborative idea sharing and the entire lifecycle from ideation to delivery
- Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
- Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
- Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities
- Use Gen AI for day-to-day activities such as code generation, test case generation, dev-ops.
- Be part of an ongoing effort to come up with innovative ideas using Gen AI, should be able to demo ideas in detail to peers as well as to leadership to build consensus and bring ideas to implementation stage.
Essential Functions:
- Consults with product owners to gather and refine requirements across product teams, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across the organization.
- Drives advanced architect solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem.
- Provides extensive domain expertise on the development of user documentation of solutions and fosters standard processes in user documentation as needed.
- Plays a major role in the development and delivery of new features across products from end-to-end.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in a directly related field.
Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum ten (10) years of experience in a directly related field.
Minimum thirteen (13) years of directly related experience.
Experience in Power Platform like Power Apps (Canvas Apps, Model-driven apps), Dataverse (data modeling, security, integrations).
Experience in front-end development, and ReactJS (modern component architecture, hooks, state management).
Knowledge of and ability to develop back-end (e.g. Python, C#, Java) components and services.
The ability to develop and use REST and/or GraphQL APIs and integrating across internal and external products and services.
Knowledge of and the ability to use different databases (e.g., relational, document, key-value, graph databases) based on the transactional and analytical use-cases.
Hands-on experience with developing, deploying and operating highly available and elastic micro-services and serverless-architecture in public cloud like AWS, Azure.
Experience with using GenAI, copilots, and agentic software for improving agility, quality, and security in SDLC.
Demonstrated ability to enhance product capabilities with the use of AI/ML services for real-time and natural language-based collaboration, workflow automation, and insights.

Builder: Experience building and operating modern services and web applications with high reliability and using technologies and patterns such as Gen AI, event-driven architecture, microservices, cloud-native development, serverless architecture.
Product Planning and partnership:
Strong product understanding to contribute meaningfully to quarterly planning and collaborate with PMs and team leads to shape team vision.
Language, Framework, application platform Expertise: Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++), React, Power Platform
Work Hours:
Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 173,100.00 to 276,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
