LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Distribution Center Optimization & Innovation Engineer, you will focus on continuously improving internal logistics processes to enhance overall service performance. You identify opportunities and translate logistics concepts into operational business processes, procedures, and supporting (ICT) systems. Additionally, you will take the lead in initiating improvement actions based on Lean Management principles.
You act as a bridge between senior management and operational teams and report directly to the EMEA Senior Manager Innovation & Engineering.
HOW DO YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
What will you do:
- You identify optimization and innovation opportunities within the Distribution Center.
- You analyze processes, data and systems to define concrete improvements.
- You initiate and lead improvement projects focused on mechanization, automation and Lean Management.
- You design and optimize warehouse layouts, workstations and operational flows.
- You collaborate closely with the wider EMEA network and act as a link between senior management and operational teams
How will you do this:
- You apply Lean Management techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen and benchmarking to drive efficiency.
- You translate improvement ideas into practical concepts, procedures and ICT‑supported processes.
- You manage projects from initiation to evaluation, including ROI calculations and post‑project reviews.
- You maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and create buy‑in for change initiatives.
- You provide Lean training and promote a continuous improvement mindset across teams.

- An optimized warehouse environment through improved layouts and better‑designed workstations.
- Sustainable innovations aligned with DC needs, market trends and best practices.
- Effective collaboration between operational teams and senior management.

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in logistics or business administration.
- A passion for innovation and a strong analytical mind
- Solid grounding in Lean principles and continuous improvement
- Comfort working with logistics ICT systems (WMS, ERP)
- Ability to turn complexity into clarity through strong communication
- A team‑first mindset with the drive to move ideas forward
- Organizational strength, creativity and a helicopter view
- Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
