VF Corporation is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Sustainability & Circularity to join our Global Sustainability team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s talk about the role!

VF Corporation is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Sustainability & Circularity to join its Global Sustainability team. This role works across VF and its portfolio of brands to advance circularity, product sustainability, and regulatory readiness, with a strong focus on EU requirements.

You will partner closely with design, development, and brand teams to embed sustainability into early product decisions, translating global strategy and regulatory requirements into clear design guidance and scalable execution. The role connects global sustainability strategy with regional and brand‑level delivery, leveraging circularity to drive compliance, innovation, and long‑term value creation.

As part of a small, high‑impact team, you will lead initiatives, manage a team, and engage internal and external stakeholders to prepare VF brands for current and emerging sustainability regulations while contributing to VF’s global sustainability goals.

How You Will Make a Difference

As Senior Manager, Product Sustainability & Circularity, you will be responsible for the following key activities and programs:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and guide VF’s Circular Product Design strategy, aligned with global sustainability objectives, brand priorities, and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to VF’s global impact reduction, compliance, and reporting strategies as a member of the Global Sustainability Leadership Team.
  • Act as a bridge between global strategy and brand execution, ensuring consistency and delivery across regions.

Circularity & Product Integration

  • Partner with cross‑functional VF and Brand teams to integrate circular economy principles across product creation and business operations, including design, development, innovation, marketing, logistics, and retail.
  • Drive adoption of more sustainable and circular materials and technologies in collaboration with sustainable materials teams.
  • Support VF’s Head of Recommerce as the regional conduit for resale, rental, and recommerce initiatives.

Regulatory Preparedness & Compliance

  • Provide strategic direction to VF functions and Brand teams on the sustainability and circularity regulatory landscape, ensuring compliance and progress toward voluntary targets.
  • Lead EU Ban on the Destruction of Unsold Goods preparedness, partnering with Brands to develop compliant outflow solutions.
  • Lead the development and rollout of Brand Repair programs in EMEA, including collection of required regulatory data.

Data, Reporting & Disclosure

  • Identify circularity‑related data needs for mandatory and voluntary disclosures (e.g., CSRD).
  • Lead workstreams to improve data quality, access, and governance, in collaboration with Digital Technology, Legal, Government Affairs, Global Sustainability, and Brand teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Partner with EMEA leadership teams to keep sustainability and regulatory readiness central to brand priorities.
  • Engage with key EMEA retailers to position VF brands strongly on product sustainability and circularity.
  • Represent VF internally and externally at industry associations, conferences, and company forums

Skills for Success

  • Strong understanding of the product creation cycle for apparel, footwear, and equipment.
  • Strong grounding in environmental policy, and EU governance and public policy.
  • An understanding of corporate business processes and the industry operating model.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability concepts and frameworks, e.g. circularity, decarbonisation levers, LCA, regenerative agriculture, nature impact.
  • People leader with a passion for cultivating great team culture and mission.
  • A boundless curiosity for the planet, nature and thriving ecosystems.
  • Self-motivation & self-starter skills, proactive, & able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to successfully support and prioritize multiple projects and teams at one time.
  • Exposure to sustainability ratings and reporting frameworks including, but not limited to, GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets initiative, Net Zero, TCFD, CDP and CSRD.
  • An ease to manoeuvre between different stakeholder groups and an ability to reconcile diverse inputs into an aligned pathway forward.
  • Systems thinker with an ability to understand underlying connections and correlations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work cross-functionally across the organization, and with external consultants.
  • Strong communicator and enjoys working with people.

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in product design, product development, sustainability, CSR, economics, environmental studies, management information systems, engineering, finance, or similar field
  • Masters degree preferred.
