  • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product Platform
  • Collaboration team, you'll build user-facing products and reusable platform components that make it seamless for Vanta customers to collaborate and complete GRC and trust management tasks.

The Collaboration team empowers Vanta customers and internal engineering teams alike. We build core collaborative experiences—notifications, comments, ownership, and assigned Vanta tasks—that are designed to be easily adopted across Vanta's product. Our work directly enables Vanta's upmarket growth and helps customers replace fragmented workflows across tools like Slack, Google Sheets, and Jira with seamless in-app experiences.

You'll partner closely with engineers across Vanta to design APIs and UI components that are powerful yet genuinely easy to integrate. This role offers the unique opportunity to deliver customer value while building foundational platforms that accelerate every product team at Vanta.

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer at Vanta:

  • Lead and execute projects with multiple stakeholders to build collaborative platform features used across Vanta's product

  • Design and build high-quality, reusable APIs and UI components that other engineering teams easily adopt

  • Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver cross-cutting features

  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and respond to incidents

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor engineers to elevate team practices

  • Contribute to Vanta's engineering culture and technical direction as we scale

How to be successful in this role:

  • 8+ years of industry experience with strong fullstack capabilities

  • Proven experience building user-facing features and platform services consumed by other teams

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern web technologies

  • Technical leadership experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture decisions

  • Platform or internal tools experience building for developer customers

  • On-call and production operations experience

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Bias for action and comfort working in ambiguity within fast-growth environments

  • Interest in learning about security and compliance or prior experience in the space

  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
