Role Summary:
This role will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating employment and recruiting policies and procedures. It will manage recruitment and employment programs and implement improvements to staffing processes. The role will also lead strategic talent sourcing initiatives, including employer branding, external partnerships and pipeline development, to ensure long-term workforce readiness.
Strategic Impact & Domain Expertise:
This role is one of the most pivotal in shaping the organization's future workforce. The Talent Acquisition Head must be a highly influential leader capable of guiding the business toward securing the right talent in a competitive and complex environment. We are looking for five critical skills:
- GCC Operational Expertise: A deep understanding of how Global Capability Centers (GCCs) operate across industries—specifically finance—is essential. The role requires fluency in navigating unique regulatory frameworks, tax structures, and compliance landscapes that influence hiring and workforce planning.
- Tech-Driven Buildout:
The current focus is a technology buildout, particularly within Financial Services GCCs. The ideal candidate must possess a strong grasp of how tech functions such as AI, ML, ES&F operate, what roles and skills they demand, and how to build a campus strategy to support long-term hiring needs.
- Vendor Ecosystem Mastery:
The role demands strong linkages with vendor partners across the country. This includes knowing which vendors specialize in specific tech skills, understanding their domain depth, and evaluating their client portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
- Stakeholder Interface & Business Fluency:
The TA Head will work closely with senior stakeholders, requiring the ability to speak the language of the business. This person must be seen as a trusted advisor, capable of translating talent strategy into business impact.
- Relationship Management Excellence:
Strong interpersonal skills are essential to foster collaboration across HR, business units, and external partners. Proven experience in building teams, hiring, and developing talent is critical.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Lead a team that manages the recruitment strategy to ensure the best selection for each role. Develop and maintain relationships with outside employment agencies and recruiters.
- Manage team to identify, recruit, select and place qualified candidates for management, professional and technical positions.
- Evaluate and advise management to ensure the timely understanding of current and future workforce needs.
- Develop recruitment best practices which support the organization's strategic goals and direction.
- Establish frameworks for resume assessment, screening interviews, and candidate evaluation methodologies to ensure consistent, high-quality talent selection across all functions.
- Define the strategy for job advertising, positioning, and external agency engagement to strengthen the organization’s visibility in competitive talent markets.
- Develop long-term talent prospecting initiatives, including partnerships with universities, professional networks, and industry events, to build sustainable sourcing pipelines aligned to workforce needs.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18+ years of experience in HR business partnering, talent management, or employee relations within a corporate environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Com/BBA) in relevant fields or a Master’s degree (MBA/PGDM) in HR preferred.
- Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, employer branding, and talent pipeline development.
- Proven ability to lead recruitment teams, manage external partners/agencies, and implement process improvements aligned with business needs.

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
