We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Leader to become the worldwide certified Reviewer for Mechanical Design Discipline and EDC (Electric Driven Compressors) Mechanics scope.
YOUR CHALLENGES:
- Enable Discipline Design Reviews:
prepare, deploy and maintain discipline Design Review Checklists to be used by Advanced Development (P2) and applicative (P1) projects. This requires gathering and mastering the applicable standards at different levels of the organization (Group, Cluster, Platform, Discipline, etc.) and interacting with the different Standard owners.
- Perform Discipline Design Reviews (DR): be available to plan DR meetings with related P2 and P1 R&D Project Team Members (RDPTMs), review and analyze the project documentation before the meeting, and then drive the DR with following topics.
Check systematic use of Standards
Ensure standard design is robust for the specific use
Identify risks in fields not covered by standards
Share lessons learned
Find improper solutions
For each issue, assess action plan

Be the relay at discipline level for EDC Mechanical “Red Box”: follow-up “Red Box” issues through the DRs and occasional other meetings (Quick Response Quality Check

QRQC, etc.) and report their status to the Mechanical Design Discipline. When available, propose solutions based on Standards, best practices, experience from other projects or latest Discipline methodologies.

Ensure Robust P1 Mechanical Design: Lead and direct all P1 mechanical design activities. You will oversee product function, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), Simulation planning, and Design for Assembly (DFA) to guarantee the technical soundness of the EDC portfolio.

Cross-Functional Technical Coordination:
Drive seamless integration by coordinating GTC support, the GTC EDC ME design leader, and the Mechatronic design leader to ensure total system alignment.
- Competency Development & Knowledge Capitalization: Actively mentor the mechanical teams to sharpen their technical skills.. Based on issues detected during the projects you will:
Standardize relevant solutions, either in pure Discipline scope or in collaboration with the Compressor Module when applicable.
Highlight recurring problems and try to find countermeasures for them, either in pure Discipline scope or in collaboration with the Compressor Module when applicable.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expert Academic Background:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field

Professional Expertise: 5 years of experience in Mechanical development in automotive engineering or relevant industries with extensive experience in high-complexity P1 project environments.

Process Driven: A "quality-first" mindset with experience in standardizing discipline methodologies and meeting strict QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) targets.

Communication skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills in an international, multicultural and remote context.

Mentorship skills: Act as a natural mentor, capable of developing technical talent and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Fluent in English (additional languages like German, Chinese or French are a plus).
