Purpose:
Provide safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy by supporting medication-use systems, optimizing patient care, preventing medication-related issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as an educational and clinical resource for healthcare teams, students, and residents.
Responsibilities:

Review, interpret, verify, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.

Assess patient medication profiles for allergies, interactions, duplications, and appropriateness of therapy, while identifying and reporting adverse drug reactions.

Promote safe and cost-effective medication use through formulary management, therapeutic interchange protocols, and evidence-based drug therapy recommendations.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to clarify orders, resolve medication-related concerns, and optimize patient outcomes.

Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile and IV admixtures, using appropriate technology and aseptic techniques.

Support pharmacy operations by coordinating daily workflow and supervising pharmacy technicians, interns, aides, and other support personnel.

Serve as a drug information resource and provide education, training, and preceptorship to healthcare professionals, pharmacy students, and residents.

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy

B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree

Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state

No previous experience required; pharmacist experience preferred.
