Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of general building maintenance with emphasis on electrical solving, including AC & DC circuits, high voltage (480), high amperage and some 400 cycle equipment
  • Requires experience in industrial wiring and the ability to read and follow wiring schematics and work without supervision
  • Journeyman electrical license a plus
  • Requires the ability to make low and high voltage repairs to all building electrical equipment
  • This includes solving, installation and repair of 110/220/480 volt single and multiphase electrical circuitry and devices
  • You should also have some experience in related building equipment and trades, such as air handling units, plumbing and steam fitting, fire systems and conveyors
  • Facilities Technicians must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority
  • Facilities Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)
  • Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United contract
  • New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment
  • There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues which are set by the Local Lodge

  • PLC electronic/computer controls

  • Must have completed high school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Ability to maintain and repair all building disciplines, heavy mechanical and welding

  • Work may be indoors or outside or in elevated areas anywhere on airport

  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders, and/or walk for extended periods

  • Moderate lifting

  • Must possess sufficient tooling to perform required tasks

  • Computer experience for input and retrieval of data

  • Qualified candidates must be immediately available for full time employment

  • Must possess a valid, clean, applicable state driver's license

The starting rate for this role is $34.52.
This is also a bonus eligible position (i.e. profit sharing).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining and repairing all building disciplines, including heavy mechanical systems and welding.
  • Take ownership of making low and high voltage repairs to building electrical equipment, including 110/220/480 volt circuits and devices.
  • Deliver high-quality installation and repair of 110/220/480 volt single and multiphase electrical circuitry and devices.
  • Play a key role in shaping the maintenance of air handling units, plumbing, steam fitting, fire systems, and conveyors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all building equipment is maintained and ready for operation.
  • Help drive innovation in building maintenance by utilising electronics diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Lead efforts to read and follow wiring schematics and work independently or with supervision as needed.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical work, including 480 volt, 3 phase systems, and high voltage repairs.
  • Proven ability to maintain and repair building disciplines, heavy mechanical systems, and welding.
  • Experience with industrial wiring, reading and following wiring schematics, and working without supervision.
  • Familiarity with building management systems, air handling units, plumbing, steam fitting, fire systems, and conveyors.
  • Proficiency in electronics diagnostics, troubleshooting, and computer data input and retrieval.
  • Ability to use sufficient tooling for required tasks and work in various environments, including outdoors and elevated areas.
  • Qualified candidates must possess a valid, clean, applicable state driver's license.

Education:

  • Must have completed a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
