About the role
Description
Major duties include but not limited to:
- Provide dietary assessments and counseling for pulmonology and sleep medicine patients and Cystic Fibrosis patients seen in clinic setting
- Serve as consultants/resources for inpatient dietitians for CF patients admitted to the hospital.
- Design individualized diets for home and inpatient use and collaborate with family members and community representatives to encourage adherence to medically necessary diets.
- Collaborate and communicate with other members of the team, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and other staff.
- Assist in system-wide changes to pharmacy/nutrition policies pertinent to patient populations as needed.
- Assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations.
- Conduct and participate in clinical and educational activities.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and paneling.
Salary Range: $46.82- $61.76/hourly
Qualifications Required:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, and have completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice dietetic internship program or Individualized Supervised Pathway
- Two or more years of experience in conjunction with a BS degree in nutrition related field.
- Dietitian License from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Ability to assess patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on Standards of Nutrition Practice and the Guidelines for Nutrition Care.
- Ability to travel to annual Cystic Fibrosis Conference in the fall (four days).
- Ability to evaluate appropriateness of current nutrition regimen and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to apply principles of medical nutrition therapy, food service and sanitation.
- Ability to adapt procedures for patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
- Work with and educate allied team members to develop plan of care for patients.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Preferred
- Knowledge or fluency in Spanish.
- CCS paneled or panel eligible
- Experience with Cystic Fibrosis.
- Experience in research and quality improvement.
