About the Role:
As the Head of Merchant Operations (m/w/d)for Germany, you will be the strategic lead responsible for the success, growth, and performance of our entire national merchant portfolio. Based in our Berlin office, you will sit at the center of the German marketplace, obsessing over the merchant lifecycle-from onboarding and catalog quality to retention and compliance.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a blend of operational excellence, commercial strategy, and people management. You will partner directly with the General Manager to define the national roadmap, build a high-performing team of "rockstars," and ensure our systems scale as rapidly as our business.
What You Will Do:
- Merchant Experience:** Obsess about improving the experience of our Merchants. Design and scale our processes across the entire Merchant lifecycle.**
- Merchant Growth:** Own and drive strategy and scaled levers for our Merchant growth offerings, including catalogue & photography, advertisements, and merchant offers campaigns.**
- Merchant Performance:** Track the performance of the merchant portfolio, prevent merchant churn, and ensure merchant compliance.**
- Develop a Talented Team:** Build, train, and motivate a team of high-performers, empowering them to deliver towards our ambitious growth goals.**
- Build Roadmaps:** Work closely with the General Manager to set the strategic direction and define the long-term roadmap for Merchant Operations in Germany.**
- Project & Process Management:** Whether it's a one-off project or an ongoing process, you will chase operational efficiencies and build foundations that scale with our rapid business growth.**
- Stakeholder Management:** Coordinate a variety of initiatives and projects across Sales, Account Management, Support, Procurement, Product, and other key internal stakeholders.**
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:** Bachelor or advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent.**
- Experience:7+ years of relevant experience within a similar position in a competitive e-commerce environment (Scale-ups/Start-ups).
- Leadership:** A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in managing and developing a team.**
- Executional Excellence:** Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of planning and tracking progress using OKRs.**
- Communication:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to influence and gain consensus with senior stakeholders.**
- Analytics:** Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel.**
- Language:** Fluency in** English**, preferrably also** in German
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:** Advanced knowledge of** SQL and experience using Python to build automation and small applications.
- Financial Acumen:** Experience owning budgets and managing a** P&L.
