About the Role

Uber is transforming how people get what they need, when they need it. Our Global Delivery business is a primary growth pillar of this vision, and as the Strategy & Planning Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of this sector.
This role is designed for a sharp, high-EQ operator to lead strategic planning and drive business-critical initiatives across Uber's rapidly growing global footprint. You will act as the "quarterback" of the planning process-turning complex challenges into actionable roadmaps, shaping growth priorities, and helping us allocate capital where it matters most.
You will partner directly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Product, Ops, Finance, and Marketing to deliver bold yet grounded strategy. This role requires a unique blend of deep analytical chops and the ability to influence global execution.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Strategic Planning: Own the annual and quarterly planning cycles for Global Delivery, identifying growth opportunities and aligning local execution with global priorities.
  • Capital Allocation: Work closely with leadership to drive investment strategy, determining how and where we invest across markets, GTM headcount, and reliability levers to maximize ROI.
  • Cross-Portfolio Delivery Strategy: Develop a cohesive strategy that bridges various delivery segments (e.g., Grocery, Retail, Restaurant), ensuring that investments and initiatives are aligned across the entire delivery portfolio.
  • Business Analysis & Insights: Conduct deep analysis of market trends, the competitive landscape, and internal performance data to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with key teams including Product, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to implement initiatives that align with the overall global strategy.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop metrics and dashboards to track progress against goals, leading regular performance reviews with leadership to ensure objectives are met.
  • Mentor & Lead: Manage and guide a high-performing team, setting a high bar for structured problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6-7+ years of experience in strategy, business planning, or management consulting, preferably within the tech or e-commerce industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy or business planning.

  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with comfort in modeling tradeoffs and ROI.

  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning processes and drive business analysis.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Ops, Finance, and Marketing.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience in grocery, 3P platforms, or consumer goods strategy.

  • Proven track record of driving growth initiatives or market entry strategies in a global environment.

  • People management experience with a proven ability to mentor and influence peers.

  • Expertise in SQL.

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
