About the Role

Uber's Public Safety team is looking for a self-driven, highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst with strong SQL and Python skills, and a passion for working with big data to uncover trends, detect anomalies, and extract insights that drive strategic decision-making. This role blends deep technical expertise-including experience in data extraction, wrangling, and pipeline development-with the ability to craft compelling business narratives that influence key initiatives

You'll collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support Uber's safety mission. Exposure and familiarity with APIs and Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies, are strong advantages. The ideal candidate is analytical, calm under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where data drives real-world outcomes

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

1. Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data
2. Use Python for data transformation, automation, and model development
3. Extract, clean, and prepare large datasets for analysis and modeling
4. Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows
5. Develop insightful dashboards and reports using Tableau
6. Integrate external data via APIs and service calls as needed
7. Conduct deep-dive analysis to uncover actionable insights
8. Collaborate cross-functionally to address business challenges with data
9. Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

---- Basic Qualifications ----

1. 4+ years of work experience in Business analytics, Data analytics and or within a similar field
2.

Experience with SQL & Python:

3. Bachelors Degree

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

01. 5 years of experience in a Data Scientist or related role
02.

Strong proficiency in SQL and Python:

03. Experience in data extraction, wrangling, and building pipelines (must have)
04. Experience with Tableau and or similar data visualization tools
05. Experience with real-time data processing and modeling technologies such as Presto SQL, Hive, and Spark
06. Ability to translate complex data into compelling business narratives and insights
07. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
08. Exposure to API integrations and working with external services
09. Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to drive projects independently
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process standardization
12. Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI
