Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Insura Match is an independent agency company, owned by Travelers Insurance, that uses an innovative online platform to help consumers compare offerings from more than 40 carriers across the United States. With a focus on personal insurance, Insura Match offers coverage for auto, home, boat, motorcycle, renters, umbrella, and flood, among others. Insura Match operates independently and manages all carrier partnerships.

Insura Match is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on DevOps, networking, and security to join our organization as we grow and transform our Technology landscape. This role will lead a small team responsible for the security, reliability, and operational visibility of our infrastructure and platform services. The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in strengthening the organization’s security posture while establishing robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities across networks, systems, and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will help embed security best practices into infrastructure and DevOps workflows while building the observability and operational discipline necessary to detect issues early, manage risk effectively, and maintain highly reliable systems. This role will be responsible for improving system reliability and building the operational processes and tooling necessary to support secure, scalable, and well-monitored technology services.

The Senior Software Engineer will complete advanced, end to end security engineering tasks, including security research, application security testing, vulnerability scan interpretation, threat modeling, and code reviews, while providing guidance on defensive coding techniques. This individual will work closely with developers to perform application architecture security reviews and partner with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Security Engineering teams on vulnerability testing, remediation, and the implementation of Cybersecurity patterns.

What Will You Do?

• Design and enforce security best practices across infrastructure, cloud environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement and manage vulnerability management, patching, access controls, and threat monitoring.
• Lead security incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Establish reporting and metrics that provide visibility into security posture and risk management.
• Oversee cloud and network infrastructure to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable operations.
• Manage networking components including routing, connectivity, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Support engineering teams with reliable platform services and deployment infrastructure.
• Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting across infrastructure and services.
• Build operational dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into system health, performance, and availability.
• Develop metrics and reporting for leadership related to incidents, uptime, operational performance, and security risks.
• Act as a technology advocate, independently seeking opportunities where technology can be utilized to improve the business.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship while fostering a team environment.
• Apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned efforts.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

• Five years of programming/development experience, focused on DevOps, Networking, and Security, preferred.

What is a Must Have?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience.
• Three years of programming/development experience.
