​Ideal Candidate - You’ll bring a solid understanding of IBM i Series (AS/400) systems, hands-on experience with configuration and support of core i Series components, strong proficiency across RPG, CL, and DB2 with strong ability to collaborate effectively within large, cross‑functional IT environments.

What you will do

The IBM i Series Engineering team at TJX plays a critical role in supporting our global operations by ensuring seamless deployment, configuration, and management of IBM i Series Power main frame solutions.

As an Engineer II on the IBM i Series Engineering team at TJX, you’ll help support the deployment and management of IBM power systems in our global distribution operations. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, vendors, and internal teams to implement and maintain this environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server administration and remote support and assist in configuring and managing i Series Power environments

• Data center maintenance activities, backup scheduling, and power‑down procedures

• Bi‑yearly patching cycles and ongoing server patching

• User ID administration for Home Office users

• Tools support: MQ, MIMIX, TAA, ESP/ControlM, i Series Job Scheduler, Robot

• Backup support including replication to CTC i Series, Data‑Domain backups, and on‑demand tape‑drive scripting

• Restore support using MIMIX and Data‑Domain

• Hardware support (disk, cache battery, failed hardware components)

• Vendor coordination and management

• Support for SOX audit activities

• Security vulnerability remediation and monitoring

• Operational monitoring using Robot

• Certificate management

What You will Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in supporting IBM i / AS400 environments

• Basic scripting capability (PowerShell or similar)

• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities

• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field

• Experience with enterprise operational tools (Robot, ControlM, MQ, etc.)

• Exposure to ITIL or enterprise service‑management practice
