Overview

As a Senior Engineer at Tipalti, you’ll join a fast-growing fintech based in the City of London, on a mission to automate financial workflows for SMBs. We take pride in our strong engineering culture which is highly collaborative, product-focused, and driven by delivering real impact for our customers.

This role blends hands-on engineering with a product mindset, you’ll help define requirements, participate in technical discussions, and influence the user experience while owning the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Write robust, efficient, and well-tested code across the stack.

• Develop new features and improvements aligned with product priorities.

• Participate in design and architecture discussions and help refine technical direction.

• Review code with teammates, maintain clean code practices, and uphold quality standards.

• Work closely with Product Managers to clarify requirements and suggest solutions.

• Proactively raise questions, identify edge cases, and help refine specifications.

• Provide technical input into prioritization and product decisions.

• Communicate effectively with designers, engineers, and stakeholders.

• Share knowledge and mentor peers where appropriate.

• Engage with external partners and vendors when needed on integration work.

Requirements

• Comfortable building across the full stack and eager to learn new technologies.

• Passionate about writing clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code.

• Collaborative, communicative, and thrive in team environments.

• Curious about customer needs and enjoy translating them into technical solutions.

• Always learning and sharing insights with the team.

Preferred tech skills

• JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js, React (or similar)

• Experience with REST APIs or microservices

• MongoDB

• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS.
