Responsibilities

We are looking for Research Engineers to join the Tik Tok AIGE team! You will work at the intersection of Generative AI and Graphics technologies and be responsible for bringing the latest and greatest innovations in the industry and academia to our platform that empowers millions of Tik Tok creators.

What you will do:

• Research and develop the cutting-edge AR Effect Generation AI system that leads the industry in interactive experience generation.
• Design and implement new features for Tik Tok's AI Effect Generation product to provide better creation experience for users
• Design and implement the data collection, training and evaluation pipelines to build and assess AI Effect Generation system performance at various stages, and investigate ways to improve system intelligence
• Using inference stage techniques such as RAG, CoT, Prompt Engineering to improve Tik Tok's AI Effect Generation model output

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, fluent in any one of the following mainstream programming languages: JavaScript, C/C++ or Python
• Extensive knowledge and development experience of AI, ML, AR, Computer Graphics, 3D content creation tools, game engines, real-time rendering, or VFX pipelines
• Excellent spoken and written communication
• Passion for GenAI and interactive experiences, augmented reality, and creating engaging, user-focused experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of related industry experience
• M.S or Ph.D. with AI, ML or CG specialization
• Prior industry experience with Machine Learning, Large Language Models and GenAI technologies.
• Strong track record of tech leading software product development
• Strong track record of conducting advanced research and landing new technologies in innovative products

Compensation

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 - $259,200 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
