About the Team:

You'll join a team that helps shape public understanding of how we use technologies like AI to inspire creativity, enable discovery, and keep people safe, through proactive communications and strategic counsel to cross-functional teams including product, legal, public policy and more.

We're looking for an experienced communications professional to join our AI + Innovation Communications team, part of Tik Tok's broader Trust and Safety and Technology communications organization. In this role, you'll develop messaging and campaigns that build trust in how we use Artificial Intelligence responsibly, partner cross-functionally to advise and help mitigate AI-related reputational risks, and manage media engagement.

You should have a strong understanding of the AI landscape, be able to translate complex technical topics into clear narratives for both expert and non-expert audiences, and be comfortable working independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders—including during high-stakes situations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in communications, with 2+ years focusing on AI or technology comms
• Strong familiarity with AI, including with key topics related to model/feature development, privacy and safety
• Strong track record of translating complex or technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
• Experience working with product, legal, and public policy teams to create impactful campaigns and minimize risk
• Media relations experience in risk, safety or technology sectors
• Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to assess reputational risk and advise accordingly

Compensation

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $117,334 - $211,112 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
