About the Role

Sound On is a music distributor that allows musicians to distribute their music work directly to Tik Tok products and other DSPs. Our vision is to nurture the local independent artists by supporting them in distribution, promotion, and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead distribution operations strategy, work with product and music teams to set up, monitor, and administrate timed music releases for artists and labels.
  • Oversee the catalog onboarding process with new clients for efficient content and metadata ingestion between clients and off-platform partners
  • Moderate and enforce on and off-platform operational standards to ensure the successful delivery of client releases
  • Help troubleshoot and proactively identify any issues involved in the distribution process between clients and distribution partners, ensuring all assets are delivered correctly and deadlines are met for clients and vendors
  • Communicate and respond to inbound requests from clients, digital service platforms and distribution partners
  • Assess and refine internal workflows and best practices to improve the client and distribution experience. Work with product and tech teams on AI solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Improve the business's overall P&L by working with the product team to optimize features and services, for example: Music publishing/YouTube revenue, etc.
  • Ensure the catalog and metadata are delivered to all of the platforms 100% correctly and on time. Meanwhile, ensure royalties are paid to clients 100% correctly and on time on a monthly basis.
  • Fight severe piracy issues in Southeast Asia by working with the product team to iterate moderation work flows and features.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in an operational or supply chain role at a content or music distribution company
  • Familiarity with third-party content management systems and programs including i Tunes Connect, Spotify For Artists, and YouTube CMS
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong problem-solving ability and technical understanding
  • Extensive experience in the music industry, strong knowledge of different music rights.
  • Proficient in English to work with international colleagues in a global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DDEX, XML, and other metadata standards preferred
  • Good data analytical knowledge, and data-based decision making skills. Successful practices of data-driven approach are preferred.
  • Good project management and coordination skills, high ownership and responsible attitude towards work.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with clients and colleagues
