About The Team:

The mission of the Tik Tok Eng-AI Innovation Center is to explore cutting-edge AGI technologies, including but not limited to LLM, multi-modal LLM (video/image/audio/text/code), etc., to let machine better understand user creations on Tiktok platform. Regarding to video/image/audio/text, enhanced content understanding can bring better user experience of searching, recommendation, and can more accurately identify and defend internet abuse and fraud on our platform. Regarding to code, our developed LLM aims to automatically re-organize/optimize Tiktok codebase, and make the code/coding become more accessible for Tiktok engineers.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. PhD Internships at Tik Tok aim to provide students with the opportunity to actively contribute to our products and research, and to the organization's future plans and emerging technologies.

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to Tik Tok and its affiliates' jobs globally. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period.

The main job directions include:

1. Research on LLM Agent methodology, how to build better performance/low cost/stability agents;
2. Explore cutting-edge technologies related to LLM Agent engineering platform(Agent Ops), covering areas such as RAG, Reasoning, Planning, Toolkits, Multi-Agents Coordination.
3. Construct a high-performance, cost-effective large-model agent service architecture that ensures high service availability.;
4. Explore the application of frontier LLM agents, like multi-modal video agents, multi-agents coordination on Code AI, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. PhD with Computer Science or related fields, with good communication and teamwork skills;
2. Excellent coding ability, data structures, and fundamental algorithm skills, proficient in C/C++ or Python, winners of competitions such as ACM/ICPC, NOI/IOI, Top Coder, Kaggle, etc. are preferred
3. In-depth research and collaboration with researchers from top-tier universities worldwide;
