About Us

Tik Tok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy.
Size: 5001-10000 employees

Industry: Entertainment & Gaming, Social Media, Technology

Responsibilities:

The Trust & Safety Policy team develops and reviews our community policies to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our Users and Content Creators to enjoy and express themselves. As a Central High Harm Policy Manager, you are responsible for driving specialized strategies to improve the enforcement and operability of high harm policy areas, such as Hate, VBDA, Hex and I&A.

As part of the Regional High Harm team, you ensure that there is a global overview and strategy, and regional execution for nuanced, contextual policy areas. You are passionate about user safety, wake up excited to make an impact in millions of people's lives, and switch readily from thinking strategically about policy development and iteration to managing tactical enforcement decisions. Your background and professional expertise are grounded in areas related to internet policy, user safety, or platform management, and you have demonstrated this through a track record of achievements in the policy space. You also have experience with bringing out the best in a team and fostering a collaborative working style in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and iterate materials that enable high harm policy rules to be operationalized across Ops and Non-Ops teams.
  • Assessing policy performance and supporting improvements to policy for high harm areas.
  • Provide actionable, operable recommendations for policy development at a quarterly cadence, through policy RCAs, focus group discussions with moderators and non-Ops teams, and escalation insights.
  • Measure the post-launch impact of policies through qualitative and quantitative measures.
  • Identify critical thresholds for policy guidance iteration, and manage such iterations.
  • Providing feedback to scope and language of policies from an enforceability perspective during the drafting stage.
  • Develop programs for policy calibrations, policy walkthroughs and general policy-ops channels to improve the moderation quality of high harm titles.
  • Provide cross-feature insights on high harm areas to support feature policy strategy development.
  • Develop enforcement strategies through which high harm policy principles and rules are put into practice, in close collaboration with T&S Product.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in Trust and Safety, with demonstrated exposure to policy enforcement and/or policy development.
  • Experience in content policy, regulatory frameworks, or public policy, specifically in technology/social media/content.
  • Policy expertise in high harm issue areas such as hate, violence, bullying, dangerous activities, I&A.
  • Deep interest in content management and online community development.
