About the Team

The Tik Tok Business Risk Decision Platform team builds the core risk engine that protects users and the platform. We provide highly scalable, stable, and cost-efficient risk decision capabilities to empower Tik Tok teams globally.

About the Role

We are building a high-performance, highly reliable risk engine covering rule engine, data systems, and real-time/near-real-time decisioning. We are looking for a technical leader to drive the architecture and implementation of our next-generation risk platform.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design and development of the risk engine and related systems, continuously improving performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Drive day-to-day development, operations, and technical excellence of the platform.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to understand business needs and design effective decision platform solutions.
• Partner with product and engineering leads to define technical roadmap and milestones, and lead the team to deliver them.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Solid coding skills and experience building distributed backend systems. Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Go, C/C++, Java or Python.
• Strong industry experience in large-scale backend or infrastructure systems, with proven success in solving complex system. Strong skills in backend development and system design.
• Strong sense of ownership, proactive, and effective in communication.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to propose clear, practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale risk systems in domains such as bot detection or abuse/fraud defense, handling high traffic and strict latency requirements.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $438000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
