Team Introduction

Tik Tok's USDS (U.S. Data Security) Product Engineering team is responsible for building secure, scalable, and high-impact technical solutions that power Tik Tok's product experience in the United States. As part of a specialized organization, our mission is to ensure the safety, integrity, and reliability of Tik Tok's core product infrastructure for our U.S. user base while operating with the highest standards of data protection and compliance.

We work at the intersection of product innovation and security, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in engineering, trust & safety, legal, and privacy to design and build features that serve our users while meeting rigorous U.S. regulatory requirements. This team thrives on solving complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, and plays a critical role in shaping the future of Tik Tok's U.S. platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Lifecycle AI/ML Recruitment: Own and drive the end-to-end recruiting process for complex technical roles, from sourcing niche, high-demand candidates to closing complex offers, ensuring an exceptional and technically-credible candidate experience.

  • AI/ML Talent Expertise: Leverage deep market knowledge to provide strategic insights on the competitive AI/ML talent landscape, including compensation trends, university relations, and emerging research hubs.
  • Proactive Talent Pipelining: Develop and nurture robust talent pipelines for critical AI/ML profiles (e.g., NLP, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning) through strategic sourcing, research, and community engagement.
  • Process & Program Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in our technical recruiting processes, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency, scale, and attracting top-tier technical talent.

  • Proven ability to manage a complex portfolio of 15+ requisitions simultaneously.
  • Experience using data and metrics to advise hiring managers and shape recruiting strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting for both research (PhD-level) and applied AI/ML roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, global environments, adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with the top academic conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR) and key research labs in the AI/ML space.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story with data to influence strategic workforce decisions.
