About the team
Our Search Ranking Team is responsible for building the relevance/retrieval/ranking models for Tik Tok's search engine. Here you'll have the opportunity to build a full-stack search engine system based on advanced AI methods to provide a world leading search engine. We embrace a culture of self-direction, intellectual curiosity, openness, and problem-solving.

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to Tik Tok and its affiliates' jobs globally.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.
Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period.

Responsibilities:

• Optimize the searching algorithms to improve Tik Tok's search user experience
• Combine your understanding of product objectives and take full advantage of modern Deep Learning techniques to improve the search ranking algorithms, including personalized ranking, text&multimodal understanding.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in the field of computer science or a related technical discipline

• Proficient coding skills and strong algorithm & data structure using C++/Python/Java

• Have a solid knowledge of machine learning and practical experience in applying it

• Preferred Qualifications

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Modeling experience in one or more of the following areas: Ads, Search engine, Recommender System, NLP/CV
