About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as the Head of Content & Creator Governance for Tik Tok Shop in the United States. This role will be responsible for setting the vision and leading the execution of our content and creator policy framework to ensure a safe, trustworthy, and engaging shopping experience for users and creators alike. The ideal candidate will bring deep policy expertise, strong cross-functional leadership, and a proactive approach to managing emerging risks and evolving content standards.
Responsibilities

Develop and lead Content & Creator Policy Strategy: Define the vision and strategic roadmap for Tik Tok Shop Content & Creator for United States Marketplace. Oversee the entire policy lifecycle - including development, launch, iteration, and retirement - ensuring policies effectively address content safety, creator conduct, platform integrity, and emerging risks, informed by data analysis and proactive risk assessment.

Lead a High-Performing Policy Team: Recruit, mentor, lead, and inspire a team of US Content & Creator policy professionals, fostering a collaborative culture focused on deep expertise, critical thinking, operational impact, and continuous professional development.

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary Tik Tok Shop Content & Creator policy expert, partnering closely with and influencing Legal, Product, Trust & Safety, Engineering, Operations and Data Science to ensure policies are clearly understood, technically feasible, operationally scalable, consistently enforced, and effectively communicated.

Innovate Risk Detection & Governance Strategy: Proactively identify and assess emerging content and creator risks while leveraging market intelligence, cultural trends, and user behavior data. Drive data-informed content strategies through A/B testing and high-impact research. Lead the transformation of governance practices by adopting advanced technologies, including large language models (LLMs), to enhance risk detection, content quality, and team efficiency.

Have Globalization Strategy & Mindset: Champion a globalization mindset by aligning content and creator governance with international standards and cultural nuances. Drive scalable policy frameworks and operational strategies that support both regional relevance and global consistency, ensuring Tik Tok Shop's content ecosystem resonates across diverse markets.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

5+ years practical experience in Content Health & Safety, Creator Governance, Trust & Safety, Internet Safety, Ecosystem Health or related fields.

3+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing teams in similar functions.

Proven track record of developing, implementing, and enforcing end-to-end policies and strategies for content safety and creator governance.

Highly proactive, results-oriented, and action-driven, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to excel in fast-paced, matrixed environments.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams, including executive stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in building, developing, and motivating teams toward high performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong business judgment with the ability to translate product, policy, and data insights into strategic decisions.
