The mission of Shop Ads team is to empower commerce merchants of all sizes to grow their business efficiently within Tik Tok's closed-loop ecosystems. Shop Ads, our feature ad solution, enables all Tik Tok Shop Sellers to promote their products in Tik Tok efficiently.
We are looking for strong Backend Engineers who are excited to grow their business understanding, build highly scalable and reliable software, and partner across disciplines with global teams in pursuit of excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Apply state-of-the-art backend development techniques to optimize Tik Tok Ads solution end to end, including but not limited to ad creation/delivery/creative automation/format optimization/etc. , improve Shop Sellers' marketing experience.
• Connect with businesses directly to understand and develop solutions for their jobs-to-be-done.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other disciplines to explore the next generation of shopping experiences on Tik Tok.

• Capitalize on the organic shopping behaviors on Tik Tok today and facilitate retentive behaviors to provide more people value and business value.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or similar fields, with related industry experience.
• Solid Computer Science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, software design) and problem-solving skills.
• Solid programming skills, proficient in Python/Golang/Java/C/C++.
• Familiarity with logging and testing framework.
• Familiarity with databases (MySQL, Redis etc).
• Team-player with strong communication skills who can also work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with main components for Ads systems, including ad creation, ad creative/format optimization.
• Proficiency and experience with designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed systems

Job InformationFor Pay Transparency Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $129960 - $246240 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
