Responsibilities

We are looking for passionate and talented engineers to join us to build up and optimize a real-time, high-performance, large-scale distributed infrastructure for live streaming at Tik Tok. We will be deeply involved in the developmental lifecycle of critical product features, and collaborate closely with product managers to deliver the best live streaming experience for live streamers and viewers.

• Foundation Ecosystem Team engineering team is the critical team which takes the responsibility of building the backbone system for delivering creators' live broadcasting to hundreds of millions of users, collaborating with recommendation algorithms & safety algorithms to guarantee our content's best quality, and thus delivering joy and happiness to our globally wide users and creators.

In here you will participate in providing technical solutions for live broadcast business scenes, optimize various business indicators and create good user experience and great content ecology system for the greater good. Every line of your code affects hundreds of millions of users. Every feature you build will be used by hundreds of millions of people.

You will:

• Play a critical role in planning and leading large-scale technical projects to lay the foundation for the iterative development and scale of early products.
• Participate in developing robust, efficient technology products that serve 1 billion users.
• Be a key member in improving architecture to ensure high stability and performance.
• Be a key member in combining strategy power and engineering power together to achieve a better content eco-system.
• Be involved in researching and applying cutting-edge domain and technical knowledge into products which could benefit worldwide Tik Tok users.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Large scale client-facing industry project development experience.
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, C++.
• Able to work closely with diverse stakeholders and have good communication skills.
• Self-driven, positive, cooperative and possesses a growth mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related major.
• 5+ years of experience in high scalable, highly available, distributed and mission-critical systems.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role and people management is required.
• Experience with multicultural management is highly valued and considered.
• Experienced in industry level understanding of risk control strategy.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $208,800 - $438,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
