Responsibilities:

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Tik Tok Privacy Product team, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain systems that enhance privacy across the Tik Tok;

• Work with engineering and product teams to ensure that Tik Tok is compliant with privacy laws and regulations from a technical perspective;• Lead large and cross function projects. Can work in parallel with other engineers and stakeholders and reassemble into a cohesive launch. Work is tactical and strategic.
• Impacts software architecture, dependencies, performance, and business value.
• Respond to privacy incidents, if they occur, including collecting information on scope and root cause as well as managing remediation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualifications

• Experienced in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications;

• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Go, C++, Python, Java;

• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures and algorithms;

• Good team communication and collaboration skills.

• Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors with 3 years of industry experience developing and implementing privacy features and solutions.

Job InformationFor Pay Transparency Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $359720 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
