
Senior Associate – Compensation Enablement
Compensation Consultant -IN
The Compensation Enablement Analyst serves as a strategic partner to the Compensation team and the broader enterprise, bridging compensation expertise with systems enablement and process optimization. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining compensation-related systems that support effective compensation administration.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Systems Management and Enhancement
- Configures, maintains, and enhances Workday's Advanced Compensation module and Payscale Market Pay to meet Compensation team and enterprise needs
- Gathers requirements from the Compensation team and translates them into system enhancements, reporting solutions, and operational tools
- Designs and executes User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts and supports HR in troubleshooting issues within test environments
- Prepares and formats data for loading into Workday using EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder)
- Creates and manages tickets in Workday and JIRA to track system enhancements, issues, and team tasks
- Pursues and maintains Workday Advanced Compensation Certification
Process and Policy Development
- Develops and documents Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for system configurations, enhancements, and technical processes
- Maintains system-related documentation to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer
- Documents technical workflows and configuration standards for compensation systems
Compensation Program Support
- Collaborates with the Compensation team to understand program requirements and ensure system configurations align with compensation strategy
- Supports compensation program evaluation, analysis, and administration through system-enabled solutions
- Acts as liaison between Compensation subject matter experts and system users to ensure appropriate compensation delivery
- Performs annual compensation cycle system administration tasks during year-end (September through March)
Analysis and Reporting
- Reviews and analyzes data provided via Excel templates and Workday reports by creating pivot tables and using formulas to validate data accuracy and identify issues.
Collaboration and Communication
- Works day-to-day under the direction of the Compensation Enablement Sr Director (functional reporting relationship)
- Partners with stakeholders on compensation system-related initiatives
- Provides proactive problem-solving and consultation on system and process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Workday, including configuration and administration capabilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis
- Proven ability to create SOPs, BRDs, and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of compensation principles and practices
- Experience designing UAT test scripts and supporting system testing
- Proactive problem-solver with ability to work independently
- Willingness to obtain Workday Advanced Compensation Certification
- Ability to manage increased workload during year-end compensation cycles (September–March)
- Experience with JIRA for project and ticket management
- Background in HRIS systems enablement or business analysis
- Experience with Payscale Market Pay or similar compensation benchmarking management tools
Educational Requirements

Options for rolling over a TIAA Traditional Annuity account
I worked for a Massachusetts-based university for a brief period of time in 2003-2004. The university’s retirement contributions were put into a TIAA CREF account and invested in TIAA’s Traditional Annuity. It’s a small amount of money (now about $14,500) relative to my whole portfolio, but it annoys me that it’s in an annuity account, and that it’s with TIAA when the rest of my investments are elsewhere.
